Web Design Services:
Working Together - Web Design Process
I start with an initial consultation and free quotation where I will come and see you to discuss what type of website would suit your business. We will consider what kind of things you'd like to show on it, for example contact information, details of what services your business offers, opening hours, prices etc. From this information, we can determine how many pages the website would need to be. Next step is to put together a few different demo versions of your website - I put these onto my server on the internet so that you can see how they look on the web.
It is useful to have a look at your competitor's website to find designs that you like or don't like! At this point it is relatively simple to change colour schemes etc to ensure that you are happy with the look and feel. The wording for the website can then be added - this could be taken from the existing literature (e.g. leaflets, brochures etc) or written from scratch. As the website is being created, it is important to write it in such a way that Search Engines (such as google) will will pick up the website in their results list - this is done using Search Engine Optimisation - which is a way of using the web design to give emphasis to the areas of a web page that search engines pay close attention to.
Once the design is complete and you are completely happy, I would publish the website onto the internet. I will then submit the website to search engines, which is crucial so that customers can find your website when they search online) and add it to any relevant free directories.
